History

The Weyburn Oil Show Board is a volunteer organization formed in the fall of 1984 to sponsor and promote a biennial oil and gas industry trade show in Weyburn. The purpose was to provide an opportunity for the service and supply segment of the industry to show and display their wares and latest technology applicable to the oil and gas industry. The idea grew out of the “Weyburn Economic Development Committee” as a means of attracting visitors interested in this type of a show to Weyburn, and to promote the economic value of the industry to our City and the Province of Saskatchewan. The members of the Weyburn Oil Show Board are appointed by the City of Weyburn and operate as a committee of the City.
